SAFETY

Like any sport rowing can result in injury and has safety risks. It is important that all rowers are able to swim a minimum of 200m in deep water as well as tread water for at least 5 minutes. Rowers can fall out of boats and must feel confident in deep water until assistance arrives.

WHAT TO BRING
-
Hat and sunscreen (sunglasses are also recommended)
-
Water bottle
-
Tight clothing such as bike/gym pants, no pockets, as oars can become stuck in pockets and could result in the boat tipping
-
Dry change of clothes and towel (in case you get wet)
-
Water proof shoes such as wetshoes, crocs or anything able to get wet (avoid thongs as these can be a trip hazard)
-
Warm jumper/jacket/coat during winter time (to rug up when out of the water)
